Plot Summary
This sequel keeps up with the original’s formula of depicting uncontainable avarice with disastrous, incompetent results. Four friends, Guddu Rastogi, Aditya “Adi” Srivastav, Deshbandhu “Lallan” Roy, and Manav Srivastav, stumble across a treasure and its cryptic marker, “M.” With the treasure dubbed the “Treasure of Life,” its existence is allegedly real, but the friends’ chances of claiming it certainly aren’t.
The narrative structure mirrors the original 2007 film’s formula of an ensemble cast racing toward the same treasure and, in turn, subverting each other’s attempts at uncovering it. The chaos is narrated by Vijay Raaz, lending his voice to wry, on-screen storytelling.

My Take
What makes Dhamaal 4 interesting is not the treasure map, but whether these performers who have had a long career with each other can create the necessary tensions for a good comedy. Warsi, Deshmukh, Jaffrey, and Devgn are all good performers.
The 143 minutes is definitely falls between medium to long runtime and a good indicator that this film is less likely to successfully pull off its many adventures. The minor edits made by the CBFC indicate that the humor might be crossing some lines in the board’s opinion, which might work for some audiences and not for others.
The four-person dynamic makes this part especially interesting. One of the issues with Double Dhamaal was that it did not have Ajay Devgn. His return to the cast, after the other Dhamaal movies, restores the original cast.
The biggest unknown with this production is whether Indra Kumar can do anything with this cast that is new, beyond nostalgic. Pay particular attention to how this film handles its cast during the second act. This is usually the act where comedies of this nature begin to find their rhythm, or lose it entirely.
